"Get Into" Henry Clay - If you would like to "get inside" the decision-making and management of your student's school then the SBDM Council might be for you. The Henry Clay High School Site-Based Decision Making Council is a group of parents, teachers and administrators that come together for the betterment and management of Henry Clay High School. Four parent representatives are elected by the parents of Henry Clay students to serve on the Council with two administrators and six teachers. The state SBDM laws charge the Council with the following areas of authority: School Committees, Curriculum, Consultation on Hiring, Staff Time, Student Assignment, Scheduling, Use of School Space, Instructional Practices, Discipline and Classroom Management, Extracurricular Activities, State Standards, Technology, Program Appraisal, Achievement Enhancement, Principal Selection, and Budget. More information will be forthcoming in the next few months. However, if you would like to know more now, email Erin Rouse or call 266-2885.



Make Them Feel Welcome! The Welcome Table at Henry Clay is the first contact many people will have when visiting Henry Clay and we want people to feel welcome! If you have two hours (9-11 a.m. or 1-3 p.m.) to volunteer then WE CAN USE YOU. Please contact Kim Johnson at 263-8504 for more information. Please consider giving your time at Henry Clay. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!



Project Graduation, a county-wide, public and private high school graduation celebration, will be held tentatively on May 16, at a location to be determined. Ray Ann White is coordinator of this project and is in need of volunteers and donations. If you are interested in helping or would like more information, please contact Ray Ann at 263-3432 or at Rayannbw@aol.com. She has committee positions available and can send forms to you by email.



PTSA NEEDS YOU! Memberships are $6 for a Single Membership and $25 for a Family Membership. Contact Fran Jansen at 552-4535 or Karen McKnight to sign up, or download the membership form here.

Attend one of our board meetings listed below which are held at Henry Clay High School. The Executive Board meeting will begin 30 minutes prior to the full Board meetings. The evening meetings will take place in the school cafeteria. The location of the noon meetings will be announced.

HCHS JROTC Booster Club
The next meeting of the HCHS JROTC Booster Club will be Tuesday, March 11th at 6 pm in Room 105. JROTC logo clothing will be available for purchase at the meeting. Please plan to attend!
The HC Devils' Advocate is proud to present the Ultimate Prom Package! For just $5 a ticket you could win everything you need for your prom night. The first place winner will receive The Ultimate Prom Package which includes: $100 off a tuxedo, 25% off a dress, 10% off ladies accessories (including shoes), $50 off a boutonniere and corsage, and a free men's haircut, ladies updo, manicure and pedicure, a teeth whitening kit, and one month of free visits to the tanning bed. There will also be similar prizes for the second, third, and fourth place winners. Tickets can be purchased until March 24th, and the winners will be announced the following school day. You can buy tickets from Hayden Bland, Katy Stoess, or Ms. Cantrell in the library at any time. There will also be a table set up in the cafeteria March 13th, and March 14th during all three lunches. Sales are limited to juniors and seniors



AP exam payments
Final payments for AP exams will be taken Weds, Thurs and Fri, March 19-21 (during lunches in the foyer).
ACT Preparation: Using the practice test will help students be familiar with the structure of the test and the types of questions that will be on the actual KY ACT to be administered March 11th. The items in the practice test are actual "retired" ACT test items. Results of the ACT can be used to predict a student's future success in college. For practice test click here.

A one-week summer program, UK Building Engineering, Science and Technology (UK BEST) provides a great opportunity to rising high school juniors who are interested in contributing to the diversity of the engineering educational experience. You'll experience engineering through small inter-related projects and tours, and advance your interest in engineering with fun, engaging, hands-on, problem-based projects. Pathways at Henry Clay - Henry Clay Career Pathways are clubs that help students make the connection between what they are doing now in their classes and what they may be doing in the future as a career. More information about Pathways at Henry Clay here.



The 8th annual Henry Clay High School Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on Friday, May 9th at Henry Clay. Social hour will begin at 6:00 pm, dinner at 7:00 pm and inductions will begin at 8:00 pm. The cost is $35.00 per person. The 2008 inductees that will be honored are Sidney Gall, Baylor Landrum Jr., Frank Minnifield, Lee Rose and Jim Smith.
